Filament Distributor Supply — Assortment & Replenishment

Distributors make money on availability and lose it on dead stock. FilaSource supplies distributors with a focused 21-series catalog across PLA, PLA+, Matte PLA and PETG, quotation bands that size each replenishment order, and export carton data your freight calculator can use directly.

Availability vs Inventory Risk — Why a Focused Mix Wins

Every SKU on a distributor’s shelf is a bet. Core solids turn predictably; exotic colors turn slowly or not at all. Maximum SKU count looks impressive in a catalog, but in the warehouse it means capital tied up in slow movers — and the fast movers still run out, because the budget went everywhere at once.

The alternative is a focused mix: a tight core of proven series, kept continuously available through planned replenishment, with effect series added only after your market proves demand for them. Availability comes from restock discipline, not from range width.

FilaSource supports this pattern structurally: quotation bands size each replenishment order (10+ / 100+ / 500+ / 1,000+ spools), standard lead time of around 10–15 days is confirmed at quotation, and every series shares one spec — 1.75mm, stated tolerance ±0.02mm, 1kg spools — so SKUs stay comparable as your mix grows.

An Opening Assortment for Filament Distributors

A starting structure we see work: core materials first, effect series after demand is proven. The final mix is confirmed with you, market by market.

TierSeriesRole in your range
Core volume PLA Basic (solid colors) The workhorse SKU most markets reorder first. Secure availability here before anything else.
Premium solids PLA+ Basic & Silk A solid-color step-up tier plus two high-sheen options for retailers testing a second price tier.
Functional PETG Basic (+ PETG-CF / PETG-GF where demanded) Durable parts demand. Add the reinforced series once functional buyers appear in your market.
Matte segment Matte PLA Basic & Rainbow Non-glossy finish for buyers who want calm, solid-looking prints — a distinct shelf segment.
Effect add-ons (after demand) Rainbow, Marble, Wood, Glow, Metallic, Dopamine and other effects from the 21-series catalog Add once demand is demonstrated, not before. Effects differentiate a range; cores fund it.

03 — Replenishment Mechanics

How Distributor Replenishment Runs

Replenishment is planned, not improvised. Each reorder is quoted against a band, dated against the production schedule, and packed to carton numbers your logistics team already knows how to handle.

  • Reorders quoted in planning bands: 10+, 100+, 500+ and 1,000+ spools — not a universal MOQ.
  • Standard lead time around 10–15 days, subject to material, color, quantity, packaging and schedule — confirmed at quotation.
  • Export carton: 10 spools, 34 × 22.5 × 41.6 cm, gross ≈13.1kg, 0.031824 CBM.
  • Each spool vacuum-sealed with desiccant — shelf-ready condition on arrival.

Filament Distributor Supply — Questions, Answered

What does a first distributor order usually look like?
A core of solid PLA, PLA+ and PETG Basic across one or two quotation bands, with effect series added once demand is demonstrated. Selected in-stock products may support small trial orders, and the starting mix is confirmed with you based on your market and channels.
How fast can you replenish stock?
Standard production lead time is around 10–15 days, subject to material, color, order quantity, packaging requirements and the confirmed production schedule. Each reorder’s date is confirmed with its quotation, so restocks can be planned against it.
Can we sell under our own brand instead of FilaSource?
Yes. OEM / private label covers labels, color boxes, spools, barcodes and instruction manuals, with color matching from a physical sample (preferred), Pantone or image. The reference MOQ for customized packaging is 1,000 spools per design, confirmed per project — see OEM & Private Label.
